France did her best, USA and Czech Republic rules the competition
Get its bearing
All teams have played. They gradually get their rhythm in this huge Arena. Great-Britain has yet had the greatest difficulty to extricate from Mexico 4-2. The English team keeps its chances of qualification.
Colombia, its direct competitor, had to wait until the last minute to win the match. A sudden weakness of the goalkeeper stopped the match. Colombia finally beat Brazil 3-2.
Also in the group B, the U.S. trounced the English 13-3, ranking as the favorites this year.
Group A
In the other groupe, France can count on Langlois and Beguery to get out of the Australian traip with a score of 2-0. France keeps the lead of the group ahead of Czech Republic.
The latter demolishes Germany 15-0. We feel the distant struggle between the Czech Republic and the U.S.A. Both teams are clearly heads above the competition this year. Despite their defeat against Canada the day before, the Swiss team win 3-1 against Hong-Kong. The Swiss Team is waiting for an error from Canadian or French to take its ticket to the semi-finals.
The first women’s Junior World Championship has style
For this first edition, the Women’s Junior World Championship is a good surprise. Canada and USA prance lead the way, respectively winning 6-1 against Mexico and 2-1 against New Zealand. The final should oppose the two North American nations.
In the last match, Colombia beat Australia 3-0. These six women’s teams represent perfectly the future of roller hockey, offering uninhibited and beautiful game.
The next day will see big duels highlighted: France will Canada and Switzerland. By late afternoon, the shock between Canada and Czech Republic will be the first major battle for the world champion title.
