No break between the 10 games of the 3rd day of competition at the 2015 World Championships of Roller Hockey in Rosario, Argentina.
Senior Women’s
In Group B of the Senior Women’s category, Spain and the Czech Republic went on their ways. They imposed themselves respectively 10-0 against India and 6-0 against Mexico before meeting each other for the first place of Group B.
In Group A, neither Finland or the USA could distinguish themselves yet. None of them got the upper hand during their game and they both keep on scoring points. The Americans imposed a second loss to Colombia 5-2, before Finland did the same with a score of 6 to 2.
The ranking will probably be made according to the goal average tomorrow. Argentina caught up after offering a first victory to their supporters in a heavy penalty game. Leading 4-1 against Italy, they increased the pressure in handling 5 minutes outnumbered at the end of the game. The explosion of joy after their 4-2 victory says a lot about the expectations of the team and their will to give their best at home. They could finish 3rd of their group is they win against Colombia tomorrow.
Junior Men’s: The Czech Republic is the favorite
While we could announce without taking muck risk the Women’s Top-4, the rankings are far less predictable in the Junior Men’s category.
Yet one uncertainty has been dispelled: The Czech Republic is definitely the favorite of the competition. Their tie with Italy had cast a doubt on the level of the quintuple world champion this year. But their easy victory on the Swiss (10-0) set the record straight.
All the more as Italy made a good operation in making light work of the USA (6-1). They are almost sure to take the second place… And maybe more if they confirm their good competition start against the Swiss for their last group game. Sparks are likely to fly for the clash between the recovered Czechs and the humiliated Americans on Wednesday evening at 9:30pm!
In Group A, everything went as expected for Team France. They perfectly mastered Spain 4-1. They secured the first place of their group before the quarter finals. Remains a last testing game against Colombia that should not be a problem if the juniors take it seriously, as there’s no doubt they will.
Spain made up for their loss a little later against the Argentineans 10-0. The latter may still hope for a 3rd place, if they manage to impose themselves against Colombia, who won their first game against Mexico 4-3 after 40 minutes of suspense.
Tomorrow will be the last day of preliminary phases, before the quarter finals on Thursday, the semi finals on Friday and the great final on Saturday evening.
