The fifth stage of the German Inline Cup 2012 took place on Saturday 7 September in Geisingen. Program for the 450 skaters: a half marathon in the city. The women’s race was won by Katja Ulbrich (Bayreuth, GB Racing Team), while Yann Guyader (EOSkates) took first place among men.
The women’s race starts at a good pace with several attempts to escape. Halfway from the finish line, Katja Ulbrich (Bayreuth, GB Racing Team) escapes with two other skaters. She won the race in 36’08 aheard of Josie Hofmann (Powerslide / Arena Geisingen Junior) and her teammate Jenny Peißker.
The men’s race is led by the Swiss Skate Team and EO Skates. But the French Yann Guyader manages to escape halfway to the finish alone. Nicolas Iten and Severin Widmer (Swiss Skate Team) will be trying to chase, but without success. The half-marathon is completed in 30’34 minutes. Guyader wins ahead of Severin Widmer and Nicolas Iten.The French skater consolidates his lead in the overall ranking of the German Inline Cup.The last race of the GIC will be held October 14 in Cologne (Germany).
