Out of the 72 medals given out for that first part of the Championships, Columbia reaped 23 medals, i.e. almost a third!
If you look closer at the gold medal ratio, Columbia won 63% of the titles, i.e. almost the two thirds!
The organizing country, Italy, manages pretty well compared to the previous World Championships with 3 titles and 19% of the track medals.
South Korea is below its performances of the previous edition with only 3 titles and 14% of the medals. Let’s remind that the previous edition took place… in South Korea!
Despite a small delegation, New Zealand gets hold of the 4th place at the nation ranking, particularly thanks to the great performances of Peter Michael.
China owns its only medal and title to talented Guo Dan.
Despite a 24-skater delegation, Chinese Taipei does not manage to reach the highest step of the podium and has to content itself with 4 silver and two bronze medals.
As for France, it experiences a serious downfall compared to the previous editions. With only three bronze medals, the French have only got 4% of the medals.
