The 2016 Ultraroller “Playas de Castellón” took place on October 16th, in Spain. The 51 skaters (sold out) had the choice to race for 100, 42 or 17 km, on a 8.3 km loop, on a perfectly flat ground on the sea-side, in-between the Natural Park of El Pinar, Castellon Grao and the beaches of Serradal and Guruguru.
On the previous day, the competitors could go for a scouting lap, before the start of the 100 km at 9am on Sunday. The organization set the maximum time at 4h30min.
The race was won by local skater Iker Mugica Goita in front of the Beddiaf Brothers. The first woman, Aura Cristina Quintana Herrera finishes 10th at the general ranking, only 6 min behind the men’s winner.
Note: A few “ancients” were amongst the competitors, including Yann Guyader and Pascal Briand.
