First victory of the season for Bart Swings and Powerslide in Deventer (Netherlands)

On August 6th, team Powerslide/Matter International was racing in Deventer (Netherlands) for the 1st KPM marathon race of this special season. The team was represented by Felix Rijhnen (Germany), Bart Swings (Belgium), Jason Suttels (Belgium) and Jan Martin Mende (Germany), all 4 racing on 125mm Matter.

43 skaters of top level came to this race organised by KNSB. The course was held on a flat asphalt lap of 1,1km with 37 laps to do.

From the start Bart Swings, using his aero Bioracer skinsuit gives, as usually, a strong tempo to test the pack. For 20min, he tried many times to breakaway with Felix Rijhnen, using a 3x125mm set up and the XXX frame 13″. The pack was still too strong and some other team like Jumbo took care that nobody get away.

After 20km, a group of 6 skaters took a gap of 20 seconds on the pack. Félix and Bart were in it and kept attacking to reduce the group to 3 skaters as Ariens Crispijn (Netherlands) could still follow. After an amazing work of Felix, finally, the race ended in a dual sprint between Bart Swings and Ariens Crispijn. Bart Swings got his 1st victory of the season.

Matter wheels showed once again they are leading the marathon seems by far with the various 125mm wheels model.

Podium

  1. Bart Swings (Powerslide Matter)
  2. Ariens Crispijn
  3. 3rd: Félix Rijhnen (Powerslide Matter)
