2015 Worlds of Roller Hockey: The USA are Back
Imposing themselves in style against Italy, the USA prove that even with less stars than the previous years on the roster, they will still have to be closely looked after for the final phases...

Mexico on the verge
In their qualification game, Mexico, the great favorites, came close to disaster against Venezuela. Led 2 to 0 as soon as the start, the Mexicans had to patiently wait until the end of the game to free themselves and secure their place for the playoffs in the upper division.
In the other group, Argentina and Brazil keep on battling indirectly, both winning hands down their respective games against Chile (9-2) and Macau (19-0). The game of Thursday will seal the fate of the two teams, sending the winner to play against the USA or Spain for the quarter finals.
Latvia confirms
The first game of the day unfolded early in the morning and featured the Czech Republic vs. Latvia. Even if the final score of 5 to 1 in favor of the Czechs may seem rough, it doesn’t reflect the game at all — a game with a very open gameplay and many shots. The Latvian goalie did an exceptional feat before cracking in the last 5 minutes. They are serious outsiders for the title, just as France after their comfortable win of 7 to 1 against the rough Swiss Team. Tomorrow’s game between the two teams will set the 2nd place of the group.
The Baldwin rocket
On the other side, the USA quicken the pace, especially thanks to Charles Baldwin, who stands out with his short built and powerful accelerations. With two shots against Italy, he is one of the cornerstones of the USA. They impose themselves 6-3 against Italy and will play for the first place against Spain tomorrow. The Spanish had a brush with death against Colombia, finishing the game with a 3-3 tie after spending the whole game trying to catch up on the score. Colombia get their first point ever in the history of their national selection in top seed. The young Colombians play with their hearts, even if they pay for their extra motivation in opening their game too much, they are unsettling for a good number of teams. The Italy-Colombia game will decide of the 3rd place of the group.
