The Pan American Games are the world’s third largest international multi-sport Games; they are only surpassed in size and scope by the Olympic Summer Games and the Asian Games. The presence of three speed skating events (200m, 500m and 10000m point) is a true recognition of the sport.

July 10-26,2015

The Pan American Games are the world’s third largest international multi-sport Games; they are only surpassed in size and scope by the Olympic Summer Games and the Asian Games.
More than 7,600 athletes from across the Americas and Caribbean will put their years of intense training, perseverance and sacrifice to the test in world-class competition in 36 Pan Am sports and 15 Parapan Am sports at the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am / Parapan Am Games.

Roller Sports – Figure Skating

Much like the better-known (at least in Canada) figure skating on ice, roller sports figure skating features men and women competing in solo performances of balletic, choreographed routines set to music.  The routines include jumps, spins, footwork and dance-like elements scored by judges.  The judging panel rewards speed, height in jumps, control, variety, originality and the sense of connection from one element to the next.
Competitors use the familiar four-wheel skates with matching pairs of wheels at the toe and heel.

Roller Sports – Speed Skating

Toronto 2015

Men and women compete in three different events to identify the fastest athletes on eight wheels. Skaters push forward from a standing start and pursue gold in the 200-metre time trial, the 500-metre event and the 10,000-metre points event.
In the speed discipline, competitors wear skates with all wheels in a single row. Athletes compete in three individual events: 200-metre time trial, 500-metre sprint, and the 10,000-metre points race. The 200-metre time-trial begins with a standing start and each participant is timed individually, with the fastest time winning the event. In the 500-metre sprint, the first- and second- place skaters from each heat proceed to the next round until the field is reduced to four skaters in the final round. The 10,000-metre points race begins with a mass start – skaters race for points when the referee informs them, and the athlete with the highest number of points is the winner.

Bonjour à tous, je suis Alexandre Chartier, fondateur et webmaster de rollerenligne.com. Le site a vu le jour officiellement le 11 décembre 2003 mais l'idée germait déjà depuis 2001 avec infosroller.free.fr.
