OLS 2016 Fundraising Campaign: Level 2 Unlocked!

OLS is launching its yearly fundraising campaign for 2016. For 12 years now, our team has been dedicating itself daily to deliver you the freshest skating news through its various websites:

• www.roller-en-ligne-import, the original French version, and its English, German and Spanish variations
• www.mediaskates.com
• www.spotland.fr
• www.occasionroller.com

As you may know, OLS is an association under the French law of 1901, that is to say a non-profit association, the means of which essentially come from publicity and internet user donations. We don’t receive any public subsidy!

These resources are used for the development of new websites and functionalities, to pay for volunteers’ trips, for the hosting of the website, and to buy the equipment that the association needs.

A fun and original process

To make our fundraising more fun and educational, the online-skating.com team set up a game the principle of which is simple:

“Upgrade the skate to make it more and more efficient”

There are 10 donation levels. Each time a new level is reached, the skate is upgraded and travels through time. It is the occasion to discover the evolution of equipment since the origins in a fun way! Which skate model is hiding behind the last level? You will know in helping us reaching each stage!

Level 1 Unlocked!

400€ stage — Your donations have unlocked the first skate! It’s an adult model made by French Legrand in 1848-49. Legrand was a butcher by profession and a skate lover. He created this skate that is kind of the missing link between inline and quad skates! The plate was designed after an ice skating blade and has 4 wheels paired up in 2s…

Level 2 Unlocked!

800€ stage — A new model has been unlocked with your donations! It’s a three-wheeled metal skate of the brand Circa that saw the light in 1860. With its side wheels, it has a lower ground clearance and is very stable as a result. The big diameter of its wheels make the skating on damaged grounds easier. Good stuff!
