The German brand Powerslide sent us a press release announcing the composition of its women’s team for 2012. It is composed with Katharina Rumpus (Germany), Sabine Berg (Germany), Laethisia Schimek (Germany) and Luisa Agudelo (Colombia).

Katharina Rumpus (GER)

“Kathi” has a slow start to 2011, but found her feet later on. She won at junior Europeans, as well as a couple of bronze medals at the 2011 World Championships. She’s always there for her team mates, and is there every week doing what is needed. 2012 will be her last year as a junior so expect her to go out with a bang.

Sabine Berg (GER)

She doesn’t say a lot, but she more than makes up for it with her skating. The old saying of, “let your legs do the talking” couldn’t be more true. Based in Gera, a short drive from PS HQ, Sabine won several GIC races throughout 2011, capping it off with the big one; the BMW Berlin Marathon. She was EuropeanChampion again, and will be looking for more of the same in 2012.

Laethisia Schimek (GER)

A team mate of Kathi’s in the national team, she is now her PS/matter team mate. Laethisia spent much of 2011 on the podum including Europeans and she was also part of the junior womens team that was 3rd at the World Champs. Look out for her to excel in the sprint events throughout Europe in 2012.

Luisa Agudelo (COL)

A new addition to our team, Luisa will bring a lot of strength to the long distance track and road events. Coming from Medellin in Colombia she’ll add an international flavor to our team. She had the special honour of being World Champion at a home Championships in 2010, Luisa will split her racing time between Colombia and Europe.
