Make way to big wheels!

Dooph Fothon 2016In 2015, Powerslide put the emphasis on its 3-wheel models with the ‘3 wheelers’. The idea has gained ground in 2016, spreading to a good number of models.

Amongst the novelties of the year, the Waves apply the 3-wheel concept to entry level composite models. We just regret the toy-looking design of some of the versions.

On the other hand, there’s no doubt that skaters are going to gain in rolling comfort on damaged grounds. 3-wheel frames are also available on the Omicrons, the Zetas, and the Reigns II, as well as on the VI ATPs, Cortex and Flytes with embossed aluminum frames.

Doops and detachable skates

The Doop line sees the arrival of the Fothon, a model with luminous wheels and transparent composite frame for optimal lighting! As for the Swifts, they are a bit too flashy and toy-looking to us, which is a shame for the image of the German brand.

The collection of skates that can be used with your own shoes is getting bigger for 2016, with newcomers like the DISCs — sober and efficient: all black and with three wheels.

Even the Xsjados that are famous for their urban colors have shifted to pastel colors that will probably not be to everybody’s liking.

The Swell collection increases the diameters of its wheels

Special mention for very big wheels with the Swell, a new model with 3×125 mm extruded frames. Its black and white design, halfway between fitness and street — a bit like the K2 Fatty Pro, won’t leave you unmoved.

A women’s version in light pink (peach) and white is also available. However, the frame on this model is less performant than on the men’s model.
Note: The Swell 100 and Swell 110 models have the same technical characteristics as the women’s model.

Powerskating: longer, faster

The endurance models keep on evolving. the Grand Prix with a 3×125 mm Vi Alu frame is still there. The World Cup enters the collection, equipped with a 3-point frame (Trinity concept): The concept consists in opening the space at the front under the boot for the wheel not to touch. Your center of gravity is thus lower and the skate is more stable. The wider front base also offers more precision and control.
The Marathon and the Ultra are renewed.Concept Trinity

The speed collection gives more room to 125 mm

The Vi Carbon also has a 4×110 mm version with a carbon frame and a 3×125 mm version with the 12.6 in Triple X frame. Not much change for the other models, except for the Triple X, the Double X and the Puls, which also have their own 3×125 mm versions too.
