The bobsleigh track of La Plagne (France) hosted the second stage of the “Seba Beton On Fire” from 10 to 12 August 2012. It had been many years that this equipment had not been exceptionally used for downhill competition in skating, luge, longboard or buggy Rollin. Almost 14 years to tell the truth!
Over 50 competitors from all over Europe took the start: Switzerland, Germany, France, Austria and Lichtenstein. A luge got the speed record of the competition by reaching 103 kph.
Inline results
In the inline-skating category, the final was attended by 15 skaters. They took off from the top of the track. The Austrian, Daniel Ladurner realized the fastest time in 1’00 “22 to over 87 kph.
“I was there in 1998 in La Plagne for the first race of this kind, I am really delighted to have won here, I made two very good runs, it was very fast and I can not wait to be there next year. “
The creator of “Beton on Fire” and multiple champion, Philip Auerswald (Germany) (1’02 “18) took the second place. The third place is for the veteran of the competition, Roman Guignet (Switzerland) in 1’02” 55.
Jean Yves Blondeau aka “Buggy Rollin” (FRA), inventor of this amazing armor, proposed a demonstration with a speed reaching over 90 kph.
