2016 Flanders Grand Prix: 1000m results with the victories of Peter Michael (NZL) and Sandrine Tas (BEL)

Second day of the 2016 Flanders Grand Prix in Oostende. Belgium stroke again in the senior women’s category. Sandrine Tas got another medal in the 1000m race. She beat Mareike Thum (GER) and Erin Jackson (USA). Stien Vanhoutte (BEL) finished fourth.
In the senior men’s 1000m final, Peter Michael (Powerslide Matter, NZL) fell during the first lap. The judges decided to restart the race. The skater from New-Zealand took the lead and won the race ahead of his teammate Bart Swings (Powerslide Matter, BEL). Elton de Souza (MPC X-Tech, FRA) got the bronze.
