4th Event of the World Skate Cross Series 2012 at Ostia (Italy)

The city of Ostia (Italia) has hosted the 4th step of the World Skate Cross Series 2012 season. Many riders coming from all over Europe (France, Russia, Italia, Spain, Switzerland… and of course Italy) came to compete in a very high level contest.

Summary of the competition

It was the second year in a row that the skatepark ” The Spot ” has hosted a World Skatecross Series step. More than fifty riders coming from all the type of skating (street, slalom, freeride, downhill) have skated the track during this week-end.

For this second edition, the track has been totally renewed. The organization put a starting ramp followed by a drop in a bank and a big air. In order to be the best during the races, the riders have mixed technicity and endurance.

In the men’s competition, the level was very high. In fact, some riders from the top 10 of the World Skatecross Series were on the start line.
The winner of this step, Kevin Quintin, already winner of the 1st step in Sankt-Wendel and leader of the 2011 World Ranking, has mastered the competition by winning the qualifications and all his races til the final. At the second place ,the local of this step, Niccolo De Massi followed by the french Flavien Du Peloux at the 3rd place. The third French qualified for the final, Nicolas Colliaux, took the 4th place.

For the girls race, the French Marjorie Phlippoteau has won the contest, as she already did in the first step of Sankt-Wendel, . At the 2nd place the italian Laetizia Orlando, followed by the russian girl Alexandra Sukhareva at the 3rd place.
