The 5 members of the Colombian Selection of artistic skating on wheels started the year 2017 with a rigorous and intensive preparation, to reach the best possible ranking at the 2017 World Games, that will take place in Wroclaw, Poland, from July 20th to 30th.
The 5 athletes qualified for the World Games at the last Artistic World Championships in Novara, Italy, where the Colombian delegation won one silver medal and one bronze.
The physical preparation took place from Monday to Friday at the high level sports center of Bogotá, and was led by coach José Luis Espinosa. The skaters will have at heart to perfect their training at the occasion of the first main national competition, taking place in three months. Several camps will be held in Bogota and Cali, run by Enrique De Matta and Oscar Rivera.
The Colombian skaters and their specialties:
- Carolina Otálora and Juan Manuel – Pair freeskating
- Leonardo Parrado and Marcela Cruz de danza – Couple dance
- Nataly Otálora – free skating
