le rockering est la possibilité de positionner la roue en hauteur ou en largeur de façon à avoir un patin en forme de banane ou penchée en avant, etc..leboucher a écrit :rockering for the freeride.

mais comme le rockering est aussi l'action de poser les patins sur le coping...
L'auteur n'a pas pris la peine d'expliquer, c'est comme une blague à 2 balles.
Pour comprendre l'anglais il faut aussi se rappeller que les chaises à bascules de grand-mère s'appellent Rocking-chair (chair pour chaise) ou encore le rock (musique) !

What do you want to know exactly?
For slalom rockering, you must replace the first and the last wheels of each skate with smaller wheels than the middle ones.
For example, if you have a 80-80-80-80 set, you must put 76mm wheels at each end of each skate. So it will be 76-80-80-76 on each skate.

You shouldn't use the "banana" setup for freeride, you will loose speed and balance. You should instead use a flat setup (all wheels at same size) for a maximum speed, or use a Hi-Lo rockering for fast acceleration.
Hi-Lo is like this:
Two wheels of the same size at the end, two smaller in front.

This last setup is only possible with a frame designed so that the axes of the two front wheels are lower than those of the back wheels.Ia a écrit : Hi-Lo is like this:

Otherwise, your wheels won't all touch the ground at the same time (which is the desired effect for easy rotation with the "banana" mount, but not here). Worse, your second wheel will NEVER touch the ground (on a flat ground).
Some frames (salomon FSK 247/R) have special axial mounts with an off-center screw hole, that can be rotated to lower/raise chosen axes. These would be ideal for a versatile setup, with even-diameter wheels: banana, high-lo, or any crazy combination.
